These two scripture passages guide our pastor's faith journey and ministry. Reverend Irven A. Gammon (Pastor Irv) has been the pastor at Florence Congregational Church since September 16, 2005. Formerly, he served as student minister at the Warren Congregational Church in Warren, Maine and then in the Rockland Congregational Church in Rockland, Maine. In 2001, he became Associate Minister at the Rockland Church. In 2003, Pastor Irv received a B.A. in Christian Traditions from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine and a Master of Divinity from Bangor Theological Seminary. [learn more]

We are proud to announce that on January 27, our Church Cabinet appointed Brenda Gammon to the position of Church Secretary.  Biography to follow....... 

Diane has been a registered nurse for 41 years and parish nursing for the last 7 years.  In 2001, she completed training for this ministry at the Parish Nurse Preparation Institute, Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin .  Diane volunteers her time by conducting blood pressures clinics typically the 3rd Sunday of the month after worship service, home and hospital visitations, patient advocacy, and health-related education.  She chairs the Health Committee which sponsors various programs throughout the year such as Sugar Blues and Balance & Fall Prevention.  Her free services are available to all parishioners. Jonathan Harvey was hired as the Director of Music at Florence Congregational Church in October 2009. Jonathan recently completed a Masters of Music degree in Choral Conducting at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and formerly served as Music Director at Roberts Park United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN. If you are interested in participating in the music program at the church, please don’t hesitate to contact him. All musicians of all skill levels are encouraged to get involved! Corinne is our new Nursery Attendant, starting in September of 2009.  However, she is not new to our church; she's been a member for nearly 20 years.  Corinne also served on various boards and committees, including the Board of Directors and the Board of Deacons.  She is also the other of three boys.  Welcome, Corinne!  [see picture]

We have currently hired a custodian to take care of our church.  Ronda comes to us with many years of experience operating her own cleaning business as well as providing in-home care for the elderly.  We are very pleased to have Ronda; our building shines with the evidence of her meticulous and dedicated attention to our church.
